FINE FESTIVITIES PLANNED FOR DONCASTER MARKET TOWN

The recipe for a perfect Christmas always seems to pivot around good organisation and this year you’ll have no excuse, as the pretty market town of Bawtry kicks off its festive season with a Sunday spectacular.

Sunday 22^nd November from 1 pm until 8 pm will see the town’s retail association host a stunning event which envelops the main street and quaint courtyards, as well as many of the town’s retailers, cafes and restaurants opening for extended hours on the day.

“This is our third Christmas event and it has grown in size and stature each year so that 2015  will be a real spectacle for all the family,” said Rebecca Dickenson Chair Bawtry Retail Association.  “We are absolutely thrilled that we have managed to secure a Traditional Carousel this year, the same one that has been used at Buckingham Palace, and very much appreciate the generosity of Bawtry Town Council who have kindly agreed to provide the funding for it.”

Other attractions include fairground Rides, Live Music, Market Stalls selling a range of gifts, food and drink, Harworth Colliery Brass Band and, should weather conditions prevail, Santa will be calling in! Players and mascots from Doncaster Rovers and Doncaster Knights will be dropping in and Christmas in Bawtry wouldn’t be the same without the legendary unveiling of the Womack’s Christmas Window.

“We’ve had a great team this year that have approached the event with vigour and enthusiasm to create an event that young and old can enjoy,” said Rebecca. “We are so looking forward to welcoming regular and new visitors to the event and creating a real community atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of the season.”

The event is hosted by Bawtry Retail Association who extend its thanks to Bawtry Town Council for its kind donation towards the provision of the Carousel.

Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) is a member organisation of businesses and retailers in the town. They work together to promote the town, attract visitors and business investment and host a calendar of events throughout the year.
